CM Punjab inaugurates Rs 3.91 billion Shahkam Chowk flyover project

The Rs3.91 billion Shahkam Chowk Flyover was officially inaugurated on Tuesday by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. The Chief Minister stated during the opening ceremony that the newly constructed three-lane, dual-way flyover would save citizens time and make their commutes more comfortable. On a daily basis, 120,000 vehicles would be able to use the signal-free corridor facility. According to the Chief Minister (CM), a patrol post and a rescue-1122 centre will be built in the Shahkam Chowk neighbourhood housing societies. Their mission is to keep the peace and keep order. To fund the construction of these facilities, taxes would be levied on members of housing societies.

He stated that prior to the construction of the sewage treatment plants and other infrastructure, notices would be given to the housing societies.

He stated that private housing societies had been given a week to comply and threatened to take action against any societies found to be in violation of the mandate. He claimed that a one hundred percent reduction in the cost of transferring land had benefited the average person.
